Melissa Lagoumis, a former Kang Haggerty Legal Assistant and currently a third year law student at Washington & Lee University School of Law, recently published an article in the American Bar Association’s Law Practice Today detailing her experiences as an extern in the Delaware Court of Chancery under Vice Chancellor Joseph R. Slights, III.

Since the firm’s inception in 2013, Kang Haggerty is proud to serve as a training ground and attorney pipeline to more than six staff members that are either in law school or preparing to attend a law school or PhD program.

She earned her J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law in 2004 after graduating with a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining Kang Haggerty, Beth gained extensive litigation experience, serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Bucks County, PA, and Brooklyn, NY. In addition, she worked as an investigative attorney for the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, and prosecuted cases involving economic crimes, enterprise corruption, organized crime and environmental crimes. She is admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania and New York.

KHF_PORTRAITS_006-HR-e1541643458420-201x300It is with a heavy heart that the Kang Haggerty family announces the passing of our beloved colleague and friend Ajit Phillips. Ajit joined Kang Haggerty three years ago as Controller, but he was much more than that. His passion, commitment and expertise set an example for everyone here.

Despite being in ill health for the last few months, Ajit continued to try and come to work—out of loyalty and care for us all. His sudden passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts. Our deepest condolences to his wife, Rashmi, and Ajit’s extended family. He will be missed.
